NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a natural compound your body uses to make NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). Think of NMN as the building block, and NAD+ as the finished product. NAD+ is found in every cell in your body and plays a key role in energy production and cellular function.
No and you actually don't need to take NAD+ directly. When taken as a supplement, NAD+ is a large molecule that your body struggles to absorb effectively. NMN works differently, it's a smaller precursor that your body absorbs and then converts into NAD+ naturally at a cellular level, where it's needed most.
